Executive Summary: Gallup’s State of the American Workplace Report 2013 revealed that 70% of workers are not engaged at work. Engagement statistics are not the problem. They are the symptom. This statistic is a glaring indictment of leadership. We’ve become comfortable and stuck in how we think about and practice leadership. It’s time for leadership that pushes the limits and gets people to willingly, enthusiastically, and repeatedly say “yes,” engage and contribute. It’s time for “Ultra” Leadership.
